We have a list of larger purchases we'd like to make for the house and it's so exciting when we can do one of them! Plus, it's our first couch for both of us that we've bought ourselves. Now we'll all have room to chill when you come visit!
I was trying to catch Tayvin doing her new face and noises, but of course they don't do it when the camera is on! She's still cute though and I have a few more videos to upload of her laughing and such. Thanks for indulging me in my excitement of worldly goods! ;)

The Mekhi Report...
Okay, a few things.
I feel like a mean old lady, but these little neighborhood girls come rolling into the house and they just irk me. I listen to them looking at Mekhi's things in his room and I hear comments like, "can I keep this?," and really irritating was the "you better give me this for my birthday!" Excuse me? What the?!? Anyways...mean old lady. ;)
So, a few minutes later Mekhi and the two girls are shooting out what they do and don't believe in. It sounded like this:
Girl: I believe in Santa.
Girl: I believe in fairy tales.
Mekhi: I believe in JESUS!
I believe there were some me too's that followed and then Mekhi says, "if you believe in Jesus, then you don't have to be afraid of anything." Awww. So proud!
Lastly, at school they have a system where they pull a colored card as they disobey or are disruptive in class. Green is good to go then yellow, orange, and red. Mekhi has been working on getting 5 greeens in a row to earn a toy from the store, more specifically a star wars light saber. And today....he did it!! All greens.
So off to the store we go, Great Work buddy!!!
And he looks so big and grown up when he holds Tayvin!

Mekhi.
I can't believe he's almost 7 already. He is a stud though for sure. I just love this kid. He is such a helper when he puts his mind to it and he is a really great brother.

Firsts that I'm really delighted by.
First of all Tayvin is giving kisses and it's THE cutest thing ever! It's also that bizarre moment where you see that they know what they are doing. It's so strange. I know of some really cute pics of her giving Jayah kisses but they are on my mom's camera so I'll hopefully update this with those soon.
Now, for the second delightful occurence. Are you ready for this one? Ok.

I can burp.
Now, obviously as a long-time rootbeer lover, I've done some burping in my past. Being raised with 4 brothers leaves a girl needing to accomplish more than that in life. Real burps are childs play. I've excelled beyond just the natural and the mediocre now that ... I totally can burp on purpose! My mom will be so proud. :) HEHEHE. It really just does something for me. LOL. Aww, I love it. They aren't really big yet...YET. Mekhi thinks I'm totally cool now and is begging me to teach him how. I'll think about it. I mean, hello?! It took me 32 years to figure it out.

Word of the Day: LAME.
Dude! I got a ticket on the way home from church today...LAME. I really wasn't happy and when the cop told me to drive safely in the "have a nice day" tone...well, I wanted to flip him the bird (you know I'd never really do that! Right?) to be honest, or at the very least be really snotty and rude. Sigh. Ok, I did say thank you kinda snotty to him, but I know it was my own fault for speeding. I totally wasn't paying attention and I was trying to help Tayvin out because she'd started crying...my bad!
It seems like it's the whole when it rains it pours and now everything is going to start going down the tubes. A random bill shows up when we are already budgeted to the penny this month and now the ticket and what's next? But...I shall be positive and try and put happy, positive, and cool "The Secret" vibes into the universe.
By the way...let this be a warning to not skip out early on church! I had to drive Robert home after sacrament because he had just did a 12 hour shift, and I just didn't want to drive back. Loser, I know. God's funny. I will now quote our favorite Big Brother statement ever... "God's Gangsta!"
