We are LOVING this book/lecture!!!
A friend gave me a cassette tape copy of this lecture on dicipline back in the day and Robert and I have been listening to it lately...it's AWESOME!!! I had to share:
Dicipline: Kids are Worth It! by Barbara Coloroso
It's about teaching kids to like themselves, think for themselves, and understand that there is no problem they can't solve. It rings so true and we've tried a few of her suggestions with Mekhi and they've worked wonders!
I bought the book used on Amazon for 4$ (that includes shipping!) I also found the following link that lets you read a huge portion of it (sorry it looks so crazy). We are trying to figure out if we can get a copy on CD so we can burn it for any one who's interested. If you read it or whatnot let me know and let's compare notes!! :D

Little Journal Notes for Memory's Sake
Robert apologizing to Mekhi and discussing with him how he is really trying to be patient, etc...
Rob: "You know I didn't really have a daddy growing up and I'm still learning..."
Khi: "Well that really sucks"
Rob: "Yes, but..."
Khi: "I didn't have a daddy before either. It was just me and mommy and Buster (our dog) and my fish."
Tayvin calling Robert and I by our first names!! Little imp!
Robert and I having a mani/pedi date and the girl visibly shuddering at his feet. Then me calling them out for totally talking about us in Korean followed by us laughing uncontrollably. Then I ask the girl doing the mani portion if his feet were the worst they've ever seen and she clearly zoning out says "Yeah" and then realizing she said it apologizes...then the topper that about had us peeing in our massage chairs: the girl breaking out the electric drill they use for the fake nails to use on his toenails!! LMBO!!!!
And some Tayvin words:
shoes (she's obsessed!!! carrying around others and wearing hers at all times)
pig, cow, cat, dog (with sounds)
eye, nose, tummy
dybber (diaper)
She kept biting Mekhi and I told her sternly "Tayvin, no bite"... she turned and stared at me for a second then made a fist and yelled "NO BITE" then proceeded to bite her fist!

Random in July, which is apparently very tiring.
