A favorite thing...

Okay, so I am so way behind on this here blog. We've had birthdays, Thanksgiving, and now Christmas as well and I haven't blogged anything about any of those. I want to do some quick ones though, so I'll do my best to get to that soon...
Now, on to one of my stocking stuffers from my wonderful man. He purchased me the David Archuleta album, but it's in a super cool format that was totally new to us anyways. It's the complete album, but instead of a disc you get a 1GB microSD card (you can use the rest of the space with your own music or whatnot) that you can stick right into most cell phones, a usb adaptor to use for your computer and a tiny little case with the album cover sticker on it. Great for MP3/Ipod's etc, and some have video as well as music. So cute. Talk about saving space!! They cost the same as CD's, I've seen them at WalMart for $13.88 recently.
Anyways, those of you who know me know that I'm enamored with novelty items...you can check them out here: http://slotmusic.org/

Update on TayTay
My brown eyed girl.

Tayvin is almost 8 months, which is just crazy fast!
She is just too much fun and too cute to stand. Robert always says he wants to squeeze her cheeks til they pop! You'd understand if you saw her smile in person. Oh! Those cheeks. Anyways...She is now saying "Hi" and waving, which is just delightful really. It still cracks me up everytime she does it. She's sitting up, but is totally not mobile...just the way I like her for now! :) She's lucky she's so cute because her other new stuff (I have a sneaking suspicion) could possibly get annoying...for example, as soon as I step even one step out of sight she screams "Maaaaaaaaaaa" like a little old man or something. She is also an expert squeeler and by expert I mean very long and with much enthusiasm and endurance! So lovely when you really need to get something done! I really didn't want to start her on foods yet, but the little Miss is demanding!! She's just tried a few things and the pics are some of her firsts:

Update on TayTay 2.0: Outfits & Cute Pics
So I'm in love with the argyle babylegs as well as the Old Navy frufru skirt. Serioulsy, I want it in every size. There's one that may be even cuter at Gymboree...but anyways, I digress.
Finally cold enough to wear some of the hats I made while I was preggo, too bad they are already too small. I do feel a need to send a shoutout to one of my very fave people: Penny. Hey Penny!! So the ADORABLE checker boots as well as the lavender boots below are from Aunt Penny amongst many other equally adorable items. The pj's say Make it Pink or I'll Raise a Stink with little skunks...seriously?!? So dang cute.
Purple Daze
Okay, so I guess I'm taking pics too much and it has Robert worried. Tayvin was full out modeling this day and I couldn't stop laughing. Over the right shoulder...pose! Over the left shoulder...pose! It was hilarious! :) And I had to show off the cloth diaper...how cute is that?
My sweet girl checking out her mermaid shoes.

We went to Target this day with the hat and stripes and all the dads and grandpas wanted to stop and admire her.
I don't know if anyone actually reads any of this, but if you are and if you have a girl: have you noticed that lots of men do the whole..."awww, she's so cute, how old is she, what's her name" thing? I mean, both men and women do but it seems to me like many more men do so with Tayvin then they did with Mekhi. I was curious if anyone else has noticed this too?
I love this picture (yes, I fixed her ear...sorry squirt). I feel like I've got a little glimpse of what she'll look like when she grows up. She looks like an old soul or something in this one.
The next few are just a bit of everyday baby Gap lovin'.
Ok! Who totally has some fuzzy socks and loves them? I thought these were just too funny.
Baby fuzzies!
I don't really know why I'm doing full on commentary on a bunch of Tayvin's clothes. Yes, Robert she IS my little doll to dress up!! It's too much cuteness for me to contain I guess, so I've got to release by sharing! ;)
Look!! Tamed hair. Who knew?
More cute shoes from Penny and a big sitting up girl!
I love pj's, they are so fun!
This picture is so Tayvin! This is her doing her crazy/happy squeeling at me.
Now, that's a good hair day. :D
Lil' sis all decked out for Mekhi's birthday party. We tried the whole babylegs as arm warmers for the first time. I must say (yes. again.) CUTE! And I love these shoes and I do want to marry them!
Okay, I'm sorry. Not really. But still. This one deserves at least 3 pics. Grandma got her this dress (go Kohl's!) and, well, it speaks for itself. We got pics with her and her cousin Jayah (my brother Derek's daughter) in matching dresses and holding little pink poodle stuffed animals this day. It was a bit crazy, but very cute!

The end-ish ...
for now anyways. Tomorrow's another day!

Tis the Season...

Hello All,
To those who know what we're going through, thank you for the prayers, support, and help you've given. We are overwhelmed with gratitude! To those who don't know us personally, here's our story in a nutshell....
My name is Jessica (Winkle) Hammett, my husband Chad and I have been married for almost 2 years. We came together both having two children full time and added one of our own this June 2008! Brandon, our 14 year old was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, which is a bone cancer, in August 2008. We were of course devastated and scared, but have learned a lot over the past couple of months and have gained strength from the prayers and support of family and friends. As if being newlyweds, blending a family, a new baby, and now childhood cancer weren't enough to worry about, Chad was laid off from his job about a month after we found out about Brandon's cancer. We have been very blessed through these trials and are always trying to see the silver lining. We have definitely grown closer as a family. We have to travel 4 hours north to Primary Children's Medical Center every other week, to stay a week in the hospital, for Brandon to receive Chemotherapy. This is not only hard on us as a family being away from each other but as you can imagine financially difficult.
We would ask all of you who receive this to PLEASE forward this on to everyone you know. We realize times are tough for everyone right now and if you can donate $1, $10, $50 , or just keep us in your prayers, we appreciate it all the same. To those of you who have helped us already, we thank you SO much!

Super Date 08
We were so fortunate to have Grandma and Grandpa come over to our house and stay with the kids all day and night. We headed to Spokane, WA in the morning and went to lunch at Red Robin. After lunch we headed to the Spokane Temple for a session there. Then we went shopping at the Church Distribution Center and then the Air Force Base. After that we headed back towards downtown Spokane for dinner. It was super foggy and dark at this point
so we skipped the place we were planning on going and stopped at Dick's. It was good, but not a real Dick's! Those of you from the Seattle area know what I'm talking about. ;)
Then we went to the Spokane Performing Arts Center.
Lisa Hannigan opened the show...she was great.
Wonderful voice and random instruments.
Then we saw Jason Mraz...highly recommend his concert!
We had so much fun, we danced, we laughed, we loved.
Go JASON!!
We had a great time together!

Happy Halloween Pics
Happy Halloween
Hope it was a safe and fun one for all of you.
We had tons of trick-or-treaters!! It's been years since I've seen that type of action.
This was our spider web of lights...looked cooler in person. Oh well.
Fun to decorate our own house!
In fact, both our ward and neighborhood have some
enthusiastic and good impersonators out there! ;)
Practicing with her bottle for our big date on Friday. Looks like she's got it down!
