Tay is sensing the coming changes that baby will bring and has decided that she can't sleep at night. It's really frustrating since she's always been a great sleeper and because I need some non-kid time at night, which doesn't happen when she's still declaring "I CAN'T sleep!!" at midnight. She also tries to declare "It's a sunny day" and "but I'm happy" to get out of her naps. Crazy girl. She's much more clingy to mommy now too, it's really hard not to give in (I do sometimes for sure) because she's so stinking cute and sweet.
She is a twirling girl. Seriously this kid is dying to be 3 just so she can start ballet class. She dances in the store, all over the house, and up in front of the church during the primary program. Needless to say tutu's and pettiskirts are a big hit around here. We can't help but smile every time she takes a bow.
I had to give Khi a ride to school this morning and Tay wanted to ride along. She asked if she could go to school too and I said no to which she replied "not yet, because I'm not old enough?" Umm, yeah, exactly. Then she asked if she could still read books. Sometimes she just sounds so darn grown up for a 2 year old.
Potty training has been tried by daddy, not by myself so much. She does both just fine, but not consistently. She's very specific and determined about which diaper or pull-up she puts on too. It will be interesting to see how she does respond when the baby arrives. I'm sure some things will regress, but I'm hoping she'll find some enjoyment out of being the big sister too.
Clothes and shoes are still an issue. Goodness. This kid knows what she wants to wear and don't try and tell her differently!
She loves to "cheers" with her drink.
She loves copying what is being said on TV and movies. She'll say "mommy listen!" followed by a sometimes completely clear rendition and other times a garbled rendition with a few key words. She thinks she's hilarious either way and I kinda agree.
I ask her why she is so cute and she puts her finger up to her mouth "hmmm, let me think about it" and then "I've got it! I've got an idea."
She says many other "grown up" phrases that completely crack us all up, but there are too many and I'm too tired to think of them right now.
One thing that I don't love at all is her changing her own diaper unbeknownst to any of us...disgusting! That and she always wants to see her poop. Again, disgusting!
Another thing that I don't like is the whole hiding in shame whenever she does something wrong, especially when it was an accident. I seriously feel bad that she feels bad and thinks she can't show her face. You'd think that we go off on her or something, but we are honestly really good about this.
In the end there is nothing better than when I'm grumpy and she's says "Mama...guess what?!?" out of the blue. What Tay..."I LOVE you!"
I have always said that she is the most beautiful child I've ever seen, and cute on top of that:) Anna at 5 years old has had a hard time sleeping since Baby H. came back. It is very exhausting. good luck with baby coming
