Whooowee!

When it rains, it POURS. So, if you've visited before you may remember my wonderful husband losing both jobs a few weeks ago. Then I got "the virus" going around. Very. Not. Cool. Anyways... this sets in the week after I try to start walking. Why does this always seem to happen? Set some goals and something pops up that makes it 10x harder to do? I mean, it was hard to do in the first place, which is why I had to set goals and post them online in the first place!! Hello?! A took a chance to help a friend, I think it turned out OK, but waiting to be seen for sure. No more details on that, besides I care, I prayed, couldn't sleep and wrote a letter. Nuff said. I had something else pretty big come up, but not ready to discuss it yet...more details possibly to come. And then Mekhi said he didn't feel good, but stellar mom that I am, sent him to school anyways. I took a nap as I was still pretty sick, and woke up to find that super hubby had taken Tayvin and went to pick up Khi: The boy who puked 2x all over his desk/classroom. Poor kid! :(  Later he expressed how not fair it was that all the kids got an extra recess after lunch...um yeah. That'd be because you puked all over the classroom. Anyways... I did make it to playdate at the park. So nice to feel human and socialize! It may be pouring in my life, but it's beautiful and sunny outside...I LOVE it!! Maybe I'll get back to walking and at some point pull some weeds? We'll see. Either way I'm staying happy, and yes! I'm STILL trying to go 24hrs with no negative thoughts! Sigh. I mean, :)

And and the topper to it all? Robert decided to go check out the basketball goings-on at the church last night? Yeah. Came home, watched AI with me, and we went to bed. THEN he says, I think I broke my foot. WHAT?!?!? He decides to go to sleep and get it checked out today, but when I wake up at 4:30 his side of the bed is both empty and cold. He apparently decided to crawl (literally) to the door (hopefully not to the car too!) and go to the ER by himself like a stubborn knucklehead. "I didn't want to wake you up, you were sleeping." Grrrrr. I call him and he is at the store picking up pain killers and informs me that they gave him some before he left the hospital. Who gives out pain pills and sends you to your car in the middle of the night? Seriously! He made it home safely, thank goodness! BUT, his foot is broken. Not only is it broken, but because it's us...it's not stick it in a cast broken it's more of a get surgery with metal pins and all broken. He has not so happily given up sports for life. Especially church sports. Let us harken back to Turkey day and ball and dislocated collar bone year before last. Yep. Poor guy. Church ball is no joke and should come with a Mr. Poison sticker or something!

We may all be a hot mess over here, but we are embracing it. And happy. :)

  1. First let me say, way to go with keeping up the good attitude! Next...so so sorry! Poor Robert, I hope it's not as bad as it initially seems.
Love the cute pics of the kids before church!

  2. THat sucks. Really no other way to say it. Church ball is poison! David has a friend who had to have major reconstructive surgery on his elbow from a push and a fall in a church ball game. So sorry!
